Heritage-Variety Scions/Graftwood for Members

Distributing the genetic material from heritage varieties more widely is the best way to conserve them. We can supply graftwood to members for a modest charge to cover time and costs of collecting materials and postage.

Availability and timing of sending out scions or budwood

We will generally send out graftwood either as scions before the end of February or as budwood during August. We will do our best to send at least four sticks of ca. 150 mm length, but sometimes available material is limited by weak extension growth.

Scion prices

Members: £7.50 per variety including postage and packaging

Members’ Bulk Discount: 10 varieties for £60 including postage and packaging

 

Non-members: £10 per variety including postage and packaging

Non-members’ Bulk Discount: 10 varieties for £90 including postage and packaging

Limitations on MAN’s Liability

We will try to send what you have requested. It may not be possible to get the specified variety. Some of our varieties show sport behaviour which may lead to departures from trueness to type. We cannot accept responsibility if this occurs.

Occasionally mistakes are made in which we inadvertently send material of the wrong variety. If we are notified within three years of the order date, we will replace the scions at no additional cost.

We cannot guarantee that the material is disease free. We cannot be held responsible for incidences or virus and disease that are observed after delivery unless notified within 3 days of delivery date. We urge you check carefully and regularly that the new trees grafted remain healthy over their first few years.

We cannot be held liable for any advice given in good faith and where Consultancy work has been charged for any claims are limited to a maximum of the original fee.

In the event of any breach of this contract by us the remedies of the customer shall be limited to damages. Under no circumstances shall our liability exceed the invoiced price of goods.
